Museum holds pasta-themed fundraisers

| October 10, 2012 5:30 PM

The Bigfork Museum of Art and History has a pair of pasta-themed fundraisers planned.

The first is Meatballs for the Museum night, scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 25 at the Swan River Community Hall. The meal features spaghetti, meatballs, salad, garlic bread, cookies by Brookies Cookies, and lemonade and coffee.

Tickets are $15 each and are available at the museum or at the door. Children 10 and younger get in for free.

At the event, the museum will raffle a five-course Italian dinner for eight by Derek Vandeberg, owner of Frame of Reference. Vandeberg — who is making the sauce and meatballs for the Oct. 25 dinner — learned to cook recipes handed down through generations of his Italian ancestors.

Vandeberg offered an Italian meal to the Bigfork museum for its 2011 fundraising auction. That five-course dinner for eight brought in $2,000.

His most recent dinner offer will be raffled. Fifty tickets will be sold for $50 each.

The winner, who will be announced at the Oct. 25 dinner, will work with Vandeberg to plan a menu for himself and seven guests. The meal will be served in the winner’s home, and will include multiple appetizers, a pasta or risotto course, and entree with multiple sides, salad and dessert. Dinner also includes wines to match the food.
