Stumptown offers several adult classes

| October 17, 2012 5:30 PM

Stumptown Art Studio offers several adult workshops in this and coming weeks.

Whitefish artist Rob Akey gives a three-day oil painting workshop starting today at Akey’s studio on Whitefish Lake. Akey will give instruction on composition, color and brushwork in landscape and still-life subjects. Artists of all levels are encouraged. The fee for all three days is $150.

The final Friday of each month offers Stumptown’s newest and art-friendliest painting session, Canvas and Cocktails. On Oct. 26, students will be guided in creating artwork in the style of Peter Max. Bring your own snacks and cocktails for this session, which runs from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Family members age 9 and older are invited to an evening of Family Fun at the Clayground Oct. 29. In this class, which runs from 6:15 to 9:15 p.m., Stephanie Seguin will teach students how to make basic pots on the wheel.

Guest artist Karla Westbrook from Eureka will teach a mandala painting workshop Nov. 3. In this hands-on workshop, Westbrook will guide students through the steps of mandala painting using their own unique symbols and colors.
