Girl arrested for stealing $500 from mom

Saturday afternoon, Kalispell Police arrested a juvenile female who stole more than $500 out of her mother’s wallet. Officers caught up with the girl at the skate park and took her to the juvenile detention center.

A man who had reported a stolen iPod said his girlfriend found the device at a pawn shop.

A Lupine Drive man said a golden retriever ran out of a garage and attacked when he was walking by, ripping his pants and breaking the skin on his leg. The man said he confronted the dog’s owner and was told he shouldn’t have been on the property.

Saturday evening, an Airport Road man complained there were lots of people making lots of noise at an apartment above his, with some of them smoking marijuana. Police arrived to find a children’s Halloween party.

Someone stole a bike from a bike rack on Second Avenue East.

Police arrested a Farview Drive man for assault for allegedly beating his daughter.

Early Sunday morning, a juvenile male was arrested for drug possession after a traffic stop on U.S. 2. Two other juveniles were released to their parents.

A woman reportedly stole propane bottles from a Third Avenue East North business.

A woman was arrested for stealing toothpaste and toothbrushes from a business on Third Avenue East North. A man in a car out front was arrested for a warrant.

Police arrested a man for obstructing a peace officer after responding to a 911 hang up from Third Avenue East.

Someone egged cars on Teal Drive.

Items were stolen from a locked vehicle on Ninth Street East.

Tools, a power washer and other items were taken from a garage on Sixth Avenue East.

A garbage bag of stolen items was dumped in a backyard on Fourth Avenue East. An officer got the items and returned them to their owner.

A caller told Columbia Falls Police about a woman who seemed “out of it” sitting in a vehicle on Ninth Street West Saturday afternoon. The caller went out to talk to the woman about moving to an actual parking spot and the woman said something about how “the demons got to her.”

A Diane Road man reported two dogs that wouldn’t leave his porch. The dogs were taken to the shelter.

An officer detained two boys suspected of stealing candy from a Nucleus Avenue business.

A Fifth Street West woman requested extra patrols after large windows in her building were broken for a second straight week.

The driver of a red Jeep Cherokee was traveling at speeds up to 80 and 90 miles per hour in the Whitefish area Saturday night. Whitefish police called off a high-speed pursuit and followed at a distance. Other units were called out to help intercept the Jeep and deploy stop strips if needed. No further information was available as of Sunday evening.

Someone smashed a vehicle window on Central Avenue.

Earlier Saturday, a man told police he had a disagreement with his roommate and the roommate locked him out of the house.

A mirror was pulled off a car parked on Kalispell Avenue.

Saturday night, Creston Volunteer Fire Department responded to an abandoned house on fire on Holt Stage Road. The fire was reported at 11:13 p.m.

Firefighters arrived to find the corner of a room on fire in the house. The suspicious fire was put out before it could spread. The incident is under investigation and anyone who saw anything at the house that night should report it, Chief Gary Mahugh said.
