An Ezy Drive resident having a bad hare day contacted the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office to report that her neighbors had between 30 to 40 rabbits that were not contained and were damaging her property. She said she had tried to trap them unsuccessfully and that she and her husband had resorted to shooting them.

The Kalispell Police Department received two reports of people announcing that they wanted to commit a crime.

The first report came when a man told an employee of a U.S. 93 South business that he wanted to steal a pack of gum. The employee then asked him to leave.

The second report came in just 40 minutes later, when a man was picked up by police and transported to the emergency room for a mental health evaluation after he said he wanted to be arrested so he didn’t hurt anyone because he hears voices in his head telling him to kill people.

Whitefish Police Department officers had to deal with a group of transients and their pit bulls twice in 40 minutes Monday morning on Central Avenue.

The first call reported the dogs tied up outside of a restaurant, while the second call reported them in front of a bar and trying to start fights with people. The second caller said one of the transients said she wanted him to “throw the first punch so she could kick [my] teeth in.”

The transients were advised to move along and take their dogs with them.
