New book explores mansion's history

| October 31, 2012 5:00 PM

A new book explores the history of a Kalispell landmark — in photographs.

“The Conrad Mansion Museum Photographs” gives a brief description of Kalispell’s founding family, their arrival in the Flathead Valley and a brief history of the home they built on the city’s east side.

The book’s 64 pages are full of vintage photos taken when the Conrads lived in the home, as well as an extensive series of new, professional photos taken of the building’s interior and exterior. The new photos by Karen Weyer are the most complete documentation to date of the museum’s rooms and contents.

The historic Conrad Mansion is located on Woodland Avenue between Third and Fourth streets east. For more information, call 755-2166.
