Valleyaires give 3 shows to aid veterans' groups

| October 31, 2012 7:00 PM

The Flathead Valleyaires men’s barbershop chorus and several other barbershop groups are putting on a series of Veterans Day concerts that will benefit two local veterans’ organizations.

In addition to the Valleyaires, The Men with No Name, an octet selected from the chorus, will sing patriotic and western music. Too Sharp to be Flat, a mixed quartet of men and women, will perform popular favorites. Big Sky Classic Touch, a men’s quartet from the Valleyaires, will sing patriotic tunes. At the Nov. 11 concert, the Five Valley Sweet Adelines women’s chorus will join in with their own repertoire.

The shows take place at 7 p.m. Nov. 9 at Epworth United Methodist Church in Kalispell; 7 p.m. Nov. 10 at Columbia Falls Methodist Church; and 3 p.m. Nov. 11 at Crossroads Christian Fellowship in Bigfork.

Tickets are $10 and may be purchased at the door, at the Whitefish or Bigfork VFWs, Norm’s News in Kalispell, Glacier Wallflower Floral Shop in Columbia Falls or Pocketstone Cafe in Bigfork.

All proceeds from the concert benefit the Northwest Montana Veterans Food Pantry and Montana Wounded Warriors.
