Backcountry horsemen host cowboy concert

The Cabinet Backcountry Horsemen present "A Celebration of the Cowboy Spirit: An Evening with Dave Stamey” Sept. 16.

The event starts at 4 p.m. at the Memorial Center in Libby.

Cowboys and Indians magazine has called Stamey “the Charlie Russell of western music.” He has been a cowboy, a mule packer and a dude wrangler.

Stamey has twice been voted Entertainer of the Year, three times Male Performer of the Year and twice Songwriter of the Year by the Western Music Association. He has received the Will Rogers Award from the Academy of Western Artists.

He will be joined in Libby by special guest musician Nancy Lee.

Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door, and are available through Rocky Mountain Music, Rivermist, Foxies Bar and Homesteaders Feed.
