All-night bike ride frightens wife

 At about 3 p.m. Sunday, a Commons Way resident reported to Kalispell Police that her husband went biking on the Rails to Trails going to Somers but he failed to return. The man, who suffered mild dementia, was located at about 3 a.m. Monday, after he had biked all the way to Nirada, which is located about 15 miles west of Elmo.

A man calling from Fourth Avenue West North reported that he loaned a vehicle to a woman over the weekend and she failed to return it.

A Fifth Avenue West resident reported that a woman who lives nearby woke her up, screaming for help and claiming that her husband was beating her. The reporting party said the woman was highly intoxicated and appeared to have marks on her neck. The husband left the area on foot and could not be immediately located.

There was a report of a woman lying in the middle of the road in the vicinity of First Street West and Seventh Avenue West.

Early Monday, at about 1 a.m., there was a report of kids throwing eggs at a house on Merganser Drive.

There was a report of a Caterpillar excavator being stolen from a construction site on Reserve Loop and Wolfpack Way sometime over the weekend.

There was a report of a business on West Center Street being broken into over the weekend with some items stolen.

There was a report of a custom-made knife being stolen from a location on South Main Street.

A Farview Drive resident reported that a garden had been vandalized and whoever did it also stole raspberries.

 A person calling from a restaurant on U.S. 93 North reported catching two men stealing things, including beer, from a pickup in the parking lot. The reporting party followed the suspects for nearly an hour but got stuck in traffic. Law enforcement was unable to locate the suspects.

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office got a report Sunday from a Holt Drive resident in Bigfork who wanted people on about a dozen boats to get off an island he owns at the north end of Flathead Lake. The resident said even though there are “no trespassing” signs, people were climbing all over the island, and one suspect was being verbally aggressive toward the reporting party.

A Gunsite Loop resident reported that he believes his dog was poisoned by a neighbor who had previously stated, “he won’t be around much longer.” The deceased dog was taken to a clinic and it was determined the dog was not poisoned, and that the dog died from either heart or liver disease.

A woman drove away from a convenience store on U.S. 2 in Evergreen owing more than $50 for fuel.

A Cynthia Drive resident reported an attempted burglary, with a window being busted out of his home and for a time, he could see a suspect on his property.

A man reported that his Ford pickup was stolen from a bar on Montana 35 in Evergreen. He later called back to say that he forgot a friend was going to pick up the vehicle, so it wasn’t actually stolen.

An LM Beach Lane resident in the Whitefish area reported there was a mountain lion in the vicinity that had been acting in a threatening manner. The matter was referred to Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks.

Monday, just after midnight, a Shady Lane resident reported seeing a teenage boy checking the doors on vehicles and then fleeing the area on foot.

Whitefish Police were called Sunday regarding the theft of two mountain bikes from a garage on East Seventh Street that was entered through a window.

A person calling from River Lakes Drive reported the theft of a purse and wallet sometime Saturday night.

There was a report of three men fighting with a bouncer at a Central Avenue bar. The men left and were told not to return to the bar.
