Deputies arrest violent woman
Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a woman on a rampage at a McCaffery Road property after she repeatedly attacked a man.
Initially, she punched the man twice and broke a window, getting a minor cut on her hand. She also went after the man with a screwdriver, but he took it from her, convinced she was trying to slash the tires on a van. When deputies arrived, she agreed to stay in the house.
They again responded a half hour later, after the woman came back outside, punched the man again and choked him, giving him a busted lip. She then went back inside and pretended to go to bed but was arrested when the deputies arrived for a second time.
A Bigfork woman reported someone had been in her cabin while she was gone. She also told the dispatcher she believes she is being religiously persecuted by being followed and harassed by pictures in the clouds, and that she is close friends with and watched over by Dick Cheney. She then hung up after saying she was sure both phones were tapped and she was sharing too much information.
A Bigfork island owner reported people getting out of a boat and arguing with him about being able to go on the island, despite the presence of “no trespassing” signs “everywhere.”
A contractor jumped the gun when he reported his belief that he had found human remains when he found bones west of Kalispell. After the bones were inspected, they were believed to actually be a bear paw.
It was reported that an Essex business was threatening an employee illegally.
Kalispell Police officers received two calls regarding a 19-year-old girl who was reportedly seen drinking at a U.S. 93 South bar before going to and drinking at an Airport Road bar. Officers never located the girl, who had been kicked out of the bar, where her vehicle was still parked.
Officers arrested a pair of men after receiving a report of two men going into an abandoned house on Second Avenue West North.
A strange man was reported in a West Montana Street coin-operated laundry, talking to himself while cleaning “a whole bunch of knives” in a sink. It turned out the man was talking on the phone using a Bluetooth device, not talking to himself, but the knives were never explained.
A suspicious man was reported throwing things into traffic, acting like he was fighting while there was no one there, and smoking some sort of pipe at a park.
An officer stopped to check out a large group of people only to find they were playing football with glow sticks.
The Whitefish Police Department received a pair of reports about a 16-year-old runaway. The girl had last been seen at an AA meeting Tuesday and was on probation and house arrest. She was believed to have gone to be with a man she is believed to be in a relationship with. She reportedly also has a history of stealing vehicles from her mother and the man.
A group of transient terrors were reported on Central Avenue, hanging out near a bar and bothering passing tourists, cursing and horsing around. They were asked to move along.
A Washington Avenue man reported he had a vehicle towed earlier in the day and the owner showed up at his door threatening to punch him in the face.
The Columbia Falls Police Department received a report of an “unsavory character” lying down in the middle of First Avenue West North to cool off. The man was found to have been hired by the owner of an adjacent property to mow the lawn and pull weeds.
A Vans Avenue woman reported getting more than she bargained for when she advertised for a baby sitter and received a call from a man who started “talking sexual” to her, freaking her out.
A pair of suspicious young men were reported for giving away devices to test air quality.
A report of a large group of people fighting in an alley near First Street West turned out to be a raucous group of women taking part in a bachelorette party.
The Polson Police Department was called in to an auto parts store to assist a government agency in mediating an instance of someone following another motorist too closely.
