Man held at gunpoint pleads guilty

A Kalispell man facing a slew of criminal charges pleaded guilty last Thursday to felony theft and assault with a weapon charges and guilty by way of Alford plea to fleeing from or eluding a peace officer, a misdemeanor.

Following the change of plea, a sentencing hearing for 27-year-old Jordan Lynn Elliott has been set for Tuesday, Oct. 8.

In exchange for the guilty pleas, authorities agreed to dismiss criminal endangerment, assault on a peace officer, and criminal mischief charges.

In March, Elliott led Flathead County deputies on a high-speed chase that ended when he crashed his car in an Evergreen neighborhood. A man and his girlfriend apprehended Elliott in their yard and after a brief struggle held him at gunpoint until deputies arrived.

Elliott had failed to show up for a court hearing to revoke three suspended sentences he faced for drug charges.
