Bigfork theater still short a few actors

| August 28, 2013 5:00 PM

Those who missed their chance to audition for Bigfork Community Players’ season opener, “Bus Stop,” have another chance to try out.

The play is still short three male roles and one female part, director Mary Reckin said Tuesday.

The 1955 play by William Inge tells the story of bus passengers who are forced to wait out a snowstorm in a diner in small-town Kansas. The show ran on Broadway in the 1950s and was revived in Great Britain in 2010 and 2011. The 1956 movie of the same name starring Marilyn Monroe is loosely based on the play.

Reckin is looking for “mature” actors — about ages 35 to 50 — to play the male roles, and a woman anywhere from 18 to 20 to fill the female role.

Auditions will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church, on Montana 35 in Bigfork, at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 5.

Production dates are Oct. 11 through 20.
