Class B football: Perez powers Eureka to easy victory over SI

EUREKA — Austin Perez ran for one touchdown and passed for three more as Eureka rolled over St. Ignatius in a Zero Week contest for Class B football teams.

The game does not count in the regular-season standings.

Perez hit Miles Griffin for TD passes of 12 and 25 yards and connected with Nikko Bakkila for a 36-yard scoring strike.

Perez was 12 of 16 passing for 198 yards and no interceptions. He rushed 13 times for 85 yards. His scoring run of 35 yards came in the opening quarter.

Cole Jankovsky had touchdown runs of 14 and 34 yards.

“Very pleased with a lot of things,” Eureka coach Trevor Utter said.

“We had a good showing all the way around.”

Eureka opens the season for real on Friday at Ronan.
