The Grinch who stole Christmas presents

A mail carrier contacted Flathead County Sheriff’s Office to report mailboxes on Golf Terrace in Bigfork had been gone through, with presents and other items taken.

A Shady Lane resident was arrested for disorderly conduct after someone reported hearing people fighting inside the house.

An East Cottonwood Drive woman wanted to speak to a deputy after her neighbor reportedly plowed snow in around her mailbox on purpose, damaging it.

A Scott Avenue woman reported she had sent someone money in order to buy a cat, but never received the animal.

A jogger on Whitefish Stage Road, who reportedly had a firearm but didn’t want to use it, was chased by a husky.

A man turned himself in on a felony warrant.

Both lanes of Montana 35 were shut down at mile marker 21 for approximately 15 minutes after a semitrailer spun out on the wet, slushy road.


A representative from an Eighth Street East business contacted the Kalispell Police Department to report the secretary had just told him she had stolen thousands of dollars from the business over the last few months.

An aggressive pug was reported growling and showing its teeth in a Hawthorn Avenue yard.


A good Samaritan stopped to help an elderly man in a motorized wheelchair who got stuck on a snow berm on Baker Avenue, but reported to the Whitefish Police Department that he was concerned as the man was having a hard time getting through the snow.

A man whose car had previously been stolen contacted police after locating it over an embankment on East Seventh Street. The vehicle was picked up and returned to its owner.

A boy was arrested and later released to his mother after a representative from his school requested an officer stop by to talk to him about his behavior.


The Columbia Falls Police Department received a pair of calls from a Fourth Avenue East woman.

She first reported her ex-boyfriend was sending her harassing text messages saying he wanted his belongings and if she did not pick him up he would show up to get it and “it won’t be good.”

She later called back to report he had shown up to pick up his things, but that wasn’t good enough and now he wouldn’t leave.
