Whitefish has board openings

The city of Whitefish has several board vacancies to fill in January.

The openings include:

v Housing Authority — One position to fill the remainder of a term expiring Dec. 31; open to city residents or residents within a 10-mile radius of Whitefish.

v Impact Fee Advisory Committee — One two-year term open to a person from the development community. Applicants must live or work within the Whitefish zoning jurisdiction. The committee meets once a year.

v Park Board — Applicants must have lived within city limits for two years and in Montana for three years and must be at least 21. One position is open to fill a vacancy for a term that ends May 1, 2016.

v Mountain Trails Park Master Plan Steering Committee — Two positions open on committee working on an overall plan for Mountain Trains Park on Wisconsin Avenue. These are at-large positions for applicants who have no affiliation with current park users.

v Flathead Conservation District Board of Directors — Two three-year terms available to applicants who reside within Whitefish city limits. One appointee may also serve as the ninth member of the Whitefish City-County Planning Board.

Letters of interest may be dropped off at the Whitefish City Clerk’s Office, 418 E. Second Street, or mail to P.O. Box 158, Whitefish, MT 59937 by the Jan. 10 deadline.
