Francis Luther Uskoski, 90

Francis Luther Uskoski, 90, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at his home in Kalispell surrounded by his loving family.

Francis was born March 30, 1922 in Hockinson, Wash., to Axel and Alma (Wester) Uskoski.

Francis graduated from Battle Ground High School in 1940. He married Nancy Dormanen on Aug. 20, 1946. They enjoyed 66 years of marriage. Francis served in the 8th Air Force stationed in England during World War II. He worked as a machinist for 25 years at Columbia Machine in Vancouver, Wash.; equipment operator for Don Franz in Sidney; and other jobs including logger, mechanic and truck driver. In his later years he worked part-time at Kalispell Regional Medical Center. Francis has been a life-long member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church.

Francis is preceded in death by his infant daughter Bonnie in 1949, parents Axel and Alma (Wester) Uskoski, four brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Nancy Uskoski; seven sons, Bob and Ann Uskoski of Ridgefield, Wash., Rod and Faye Uskoski of Kalispell, Mike and Cheryl Uskoski of Kalispell, Randy and Melinda Uskoski of Battle Ground, Wash., Dick and Jennifer Uskoski of Kalispell, Stanley and Elizabeth Uskoski of Kalispell, and Joe and Carla Uskoski of Battle Ground, Wash.; five daughters, Cynthia and Wayne Pekkala of Palmer, Alaska, Carol and Jim Pegoraro of Battle Ground, Wash., Janet and Henry Patteri of Kalispell, Lori and Ben Heidegger of Lonepine, and Sara and Dave Hofmann of Battle Ground, Wash.; a sister, Helen Uskoski of Longview, Wash.; 78 grandchildren; 108 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, and a host of Christian friends.

Funeral services for Francis will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 15, at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church in Lakeside at 1 p.m. There will be a viewing for Francis at the church on Monday, Jan. 14, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Burial will follow funeral services at Glacier Memorial Gardens.
