Marcile Louise Wilde Herron, 63

| January 22, 2013 10:00 PM

Marcile Louise Wilde Herron “gracefully bowed out” during her fourth bout in a 15-year battle with cancer. She died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born May 22, 1949, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Pat and Patty Wilde.

Marcile lived in Montpelier, Idaho, during her youth. She graduated from Ricks College (Brigham Young University-Idaho). She attended Idaho State University.

She married Clark Owen Herron on Feb. 11, 1971, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Temple in Idaho Falls, Idaho. The happy couple moved to Del Bonita, Mont., where they ran the family ranch. All five of their children were born there. When their children were school-aged, the family moved to Kalispell.

Marcile continued her education with bookkeeping classes and became an office manager for Dr. Flagg and Dr. Nelson. She most recently worked at Thermal Tech as the office manager.

She loved gardening, sewing and quilting. She also enjoyed genealogy and reading. She loved her family and doing things for them. She was always learning something new and expanding her knowledge. The most-used item in her wallet was her library card. She enjoyed traveling to Utah to visit her children and go shopping; she always had a list and a plan.

Marcile was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many callings there, the latest with the children in Primary.

Marcile is survived by her mother, Pat; husband, Clark; five children, Danell and Monte Mortensen of Logan, Utah, Joshua and Ann of Tooele, Utah, Michael and Holly of Las Vegas, Katie and Jeremy Malan of Syracuse, Utah, and Angie and Jon Craig of Logan; and 17 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Pat.

The family would like to thank Home Options Hospice for making her last days with us peaceful. We would also like to thank her boss, Jay Nordwall, for the support and compassion he always gave our mother.

“We love you, Mom — Always have, always will.”

Funeral services for Marcile will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 24, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1380 Whitefish Stage in Kalispell, with Bishop Scott Wendling officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services in the Relief Society room. Grave dedication and interment will follow in Montpelier.
