Homeless man buying acid

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a concerned employee at a Stoner Loop business in Lakeside. The employee said she had sold a homeless man muratic acid on several occasions but now felt uncomfortable doing so and was afraid he may harm himself or others, although she had no reason to believe he was breaking any laws.

An Airport Road woman reported seeing people living below her shooting up drugs through a basement window. It was discovered that her 17-year-old son was the one who had claimed to see the activity while peeking through a very small gap in the curtains. The tenants were very cooperative and allowed a deputy to search the house and to check their hands and arms for needle marks; there were none. They told the deputy the woman was their landlord and had been trying to evict them.

A Marion man was counseled after causing a scene at his child’s school, being unruly and cursing. The man had an active warrant for failing to appear at a hearing related to a disorderly conduct charge. He told an officer he did not believe he had done anything wrong, then hung up on the officer when the officer advised him of his warrant. The officer said the man “wouldn’t listen to reason.”

A Hungry Horse man reported he hired a boy to do some work for him, and when he picked up the boy, the boy had a big box of marijuana and told the man he was going to make hashish.

A roving pack of dogs acting aggressively toward humans was reported on Coon Hollow Road in Kila.

An elderly man was reported cutting packages open at a store on U.S. 2 East in Kalispell.

A boy was released to his grandmother after being caught on the roof of a church on U.S. 2 East in Kalispell.

A homeless woman was advised to move along after a transient camp was reported under a bridge at Whitefish Stage Rod.

A Lore Lake Road man reported his vehicle had been broken into several times over the past three to four weeks.

A Lion Mountain Drive resident in Whitefish reported an officer followed her home and yelled at her for her driving.

A person was punched in the face on River Road.

A Marion man on Kelsey Road reported someone stole his credit card number and had bought several items.

A portable generator was stolen from a camper trailer on Addison Square.


Kalispell Police Department officers responded to Heritage Way after a woman having a medical emergency, possibly a seizure, drove into a power pole. The pole was undamaged and the woman, who calmed down and was eventually able to respond, was transported to the hospital.

A motorist was reported spinning brodies in a truck at the fairgrounds.

An “extremely intoxicated” man was transported to his room and his car keys were taken away after he was found sitting in his car on U.S. 93 South, looking into space, nodding and refusing to speak.

Someone smashed the window in the front door of a clinic on Three Mile Drive.

Someone smashed a window on a vehicle on U.S. 93 South and stole a purse from inside.

A vehicle was vandalized in a parking lot on Wolfpack Way.

A checkbook was stolen on Lupine Drive.

A man turned himself in on a warrant.


Whitefish Police Department officers contacted a Colorado Avenue couple after receiving a report from Missoula County deputies that the couple’s son had taken some kind of acid and broken several windows, ending up in the hospital.

Officers arrested a motorist during a traffic stop on East Sixth Street.

A man was seen stumbling into traffic on Spokane Avenue.


Columbia Falls Police Department cited and released a man apprehended by employees at a Nucleus Avenue supermarket after he attempted to shoplift from the store.
