Yarn store hosts knitting classes

A Kalispell yarn store offers three knitting classes for crafters of all abilities this month.

Woolen Collectibles offers courses at 183 First Ave. E.N. Each three-session class costs $45.

Learn to Knit

Aug. 6, 13 and 20; 1:30-2:30 p.m.

Knitting warm, comfortable, attractive clothing is calming to the mind and soothing to the spirit (and fun). This class covers needles, yarns and basic stitches with lots of time to practice, ask questions and discover the joy of this ancient craft.

Christmas Stocking

Aug. 7, 14 and 21; 2:30-3:30 p.m.

Celebrate Christmas with a traditional creation of a stocking. From classic to contemporary styles with fast and easy choices, there’s a stocking for everyone to knit.

Socks, Socks, Socks

Aug. 8, 15 and 22; 11 a.m. to noon

If you’re interested in a small, take-along project, socks are just what you need. Once you have mastered socks, almost any knitting project will be easier. If you haven't joined the ranks of enthusiastic sock knitters, don't put it off any longer.
