A pair of feuding Second Avenue West neighbors each contacted the Kalispell Police Department over an animal dispute Monday. The first call came from a man who said his neighbor’s puppy had been barking for about a half hour straight.

The next call came from the dog’s owner, responding to a barking dog notice left on his door. He was very upset, saying there was no way his dog could be barking loud enough to cause a disturbance, especially with planes constantly going over his home.

A man was banned from a U.S. 2 West fast-food restaurant after yelling at the manager and making sexual statements. He had already been advised not to return after an incident a previous night.

Someone broke a padlock and entered a chemical storage building on U.S. 93 South.

An upset Third Avenue South mother in Martin City contacted the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office to report her daughter and her daughter’s friend had hung out with a neighbor man who gave them cigarettes and got them high.

The manager of a Montana 83 property in Bigfork reported a tenant started pushing him around. When a deputy spoke with the tenant, he first admitted pushing the manager but then said he was done talking to the deputy and went back inside, refusing to answer the door.

A 52-year-old man had the lower part of a leg amputated when a piece of equipment fell on him at an Alder Drive building near Somers.

A large chunk of barbed wire was found in the middle of Walsh Road in Columbia Falls, appearing to have been placed there on purpose.

An abandoned full-size raft was found between Kintla Lake and the Flathead River, stuck on a log jam. No missing rafters had been reported.

The Columbia Falls Police Department was pulled into the middle of a dispute between a jewelry store and a now ex-employee Monday.

The department first received a call from a man who claimed a local jewelry store was selling cubic zirconia as diamonds and blaming the customer if they didn’t know the difference. Upon further investigation, store management reported the man had just been fired and they were now missing diamonds.

A yak possibly looking to cool off was seen on U.S. 2 East across from the waterslides before being returned to its pasture.

The Whitefish Police Department received a report from the postmaster, who said someone tried to get inside some of the P.O. boxes Friday night.
