:Whitefish’s downtown art galleries are open tonight for the monthly First Thursday art walk event.

During Whitefish Gallery Nights, the city’s downtown art galleries throw open their doors with free admission, artist receptions, refreshments, live music and more.

The event takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. Following are a few of the featured exhibits at tonight’s event.

For additional information, including a map of participating galleries, visit www.whitefishgallerynights.org.

Stumptown Art Studio features artwork by Jeanne Moe. A familiar local personality, Moe has been painting throughout her life and will be exhibiting “Watercolor On My Mind.”

“I don’t really think of myself as an ‘artist,’ but I know that it gives me great pleasure to put color on the paper,” Moe said. “I want the pictures that I paint to have a positive effect on people. I want them to respond with smiles and happy feelings.”

Her use of color and subjects represent this passion.

Stumptown Art Studio is located at 145 Central Ave. Call 862-5929 for details.
