Flathead group hosts state Democratic event
The Flathead County Democratic Women are hosting the Montana Democratic Women’s Convention Friday, June 21, and Saturday, June 22, at the Hilton Garden Inn in Kalispell.
Headline speaker Denise Juneau, Montana’s State Superintendent of Public Instruction, will speak at Friday’s opening banquet. Her speech is titled, “Celebrating 100 Years of Women in Montana Politics.”
The conference continues on Saturday with a panel discussion with several local business women, including Margaret LeKander, owner/operator of Wheaton’s bicycle shop; Katharine Thompson, Community Development Administrator for Kalispell; and Pam Carbonari, former mayor of Kalispell and now the Downtown Business Improvement District coordinator for Kalispell.
Lindsay Love, communications director of Planned Parenthood, will speak at the Saturday luncheon.

Guests may attend Friday’s banquet dinner only for $32.50. Spouses are also welcome on Friday.
Tickets for the entire convention which includes the banquet dinner, breakfast and lunch, and a tote bag are $65.
Registration may also be handled by sending a check to Ava Wasley, P.O. Box 94, Lakeside, MT 59922. Checks must be mailed by June 10.
Tickets cannot be purchased the night of the banquet or Saturday morning. Tickets will not be mailed and will be available at the event.
