Film festival seeks early submissions

| June 12, 2013 6:00 PM

Missoula’s Big Sky Documentary Film Festival is now seeking submissions of nonfiction films of all genres, subject matter, lengths and production dates for its 11th annual festival.

The next festival doesn’t take place until Feb. 14-23, 2014, but early submissions must be postmarked by July 10.

The competitive event includes awards Best Documentary Feature (longer than 50 minutes), Best Documentary Short (less than 50 minutes) and Big Sky Award (best film about the American West).

Over the course of its 10 days, the film festival will showcase more than 100 films — including world and U.S. premieres, classics, and rare and experimental works — for more than 20,000 local and international attendees. The films screen in several venues in downtown Missoula, including the historic Wilma Theatre.

In addition to films, Big Sky Documentary Film Festival hosts a variety of public and VIP events, as well as the Big Sky Doc Shop, a four-day industry forum featuring panel discussions, workshops and pitch sessions with some of the industry’s most influential professionals.

DVD (any region), Blu-Ray, Quicktime Movie or On-Line Screener will be accepted for preview. Submit your film at https://www.withoutabox.com/login/3969.
