Bear the prime suspect in break-in

A man calling the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office from Yeoman Hall Road Sunday reported that a front door and window were broken out. He thinks the culprit may be a bear.

A man calling from Caroline Road reported that his estranged wife will not give him back a gun.

There was a report from U.S. 2 East in the Columbia Falls area regarding a man walking down the middle of the road with a sleeping bag over his head, unable to see. A deputy passed by the subject several times; he appeared to be fine.

A man calling from North Somers Road reported that he had to pepper spray his father after his dad attempted to assault him.

There was a report from Wild Goose Run in the Kalispell area regarding items stolen from a pontoon boat in storage. It appeared someone tried to start a fire on the boat, possibly to keep warm.

A host at a campground on Hungry Horse Reservoir reported that campers in two vehicles from Washington and one from Idaho left a huge mess. The host wanted them stopped and returned to the campground to clean it up.

A woman calling from Kokanee Bend Drive reported that her cellphone and other items were stolen from a work bag that was in her vehicle.

There was a stolen vehicle report from River Road involving a man lending his SUV to his girlfriend on Friday, with plans to return it the next day, but the woman failing to do so.

At about 5 a.m. Monday, a woman calling from Smith Lake Road reported that she heard someone break a window on her garage, and she saw a woman running around the garage before leaving the area.

Kalispell Police got a report from 11th Street West Sunday, with a man saying someone drove a vehicle over his son’s remote control car. He believes it was deliberate.  

A woman calling from East Center Street reported that a man on a bicycle keeps confronting her on the street, asking her where “he can buy weed.” She said she considers him suspicious.

Monday morning, a man calling from U.S. 93 South said he saw someone trying to steal a bicycle from the thrift store.

A woman called Whitefish Police Sunday from Iowa Avenue to report that tires on her vehicle were slashed. She suspects her ex-boyfriend did it.

After a traffic stop on Kalispell Avenue, a man was arrested for drunken driving.

A Waverly Place resident reported that a group of kids were shooting a pellet gun at a neighbor’s house.

Columbia Falls Police got a report Sunday from a Nucleus Avenue business regarding an unwanted woman who was trespassing.

A man called from a Ninth Street West address to report that another man hit his girlfriend and then ran off. The man was later located and arrested.
