Kalispell’s water customers will see their utility bills go up next month as the last in a string of City Council-approved increases takes effect.

The administrative charge component of the city’s water bills will increase from $9.38 to $15 on July 1.

The administrative charge previously had increased from $3.75 to $9.38 in 2011.

Water rates are not increasing from the existing $2.43 per 1,000 gallons charge. That water rate has been in effect since 2008.

The administrative charge component of Kalispell’s sewer bills already has been increased to $15. It was increased from $3.75 to $9.38 in 2011 and from that to $15 in 2012.

Sewer rates are not increasing after a 2012 increase from $4.19 to $4.78 per 1,000 gallons.

“We’re just doing what council approved by resolution three or four years ago,” Kalispell Finance Director Rick Wills said.
