State revives couplet plans

Some of the scene has changed since this 2002 aerial photo was taken of the county courthouse complex — traffic around the courthouse is now one instead of two lanes and the two buildings flanking the old courthouse have been removed. State highway officials have revived plans to rebuild the couplet around the courthouse. Options include two lanes on each side or all four lanes of U.S. 93 rerouted to the east side — at the bottom in this photograph. (Daily Inter Lake file photo)
