Runaway girl arrives home in chains
Sunday night, an Evergreen man told the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office his runaway juvenile daughter showed back up at his house — naked on the porch with her hands and feet wrapped in barbed wire.
The man said his other daughter looked out a window and saw her sister naked on the porch and started screaming, which prompted him to look outside. The girl claimed that she just woke up on the porch.
Authorities who were investigating the incident Monday were considering the possibility that the incident may have been staged by the girl in an effort to hide her recent whereabouts.
Earlier Sunday, deputies advised a man to stay away from a casino on East Idaho Street. That was done at the business’s request.
A Blue Lake Lane woman found street signs in the woods two weeks ago and wanted a deputy to come get them.
A woman on Fourth Avenue West North said a young man in a red BMW was harassing her and her son and had assaulted her son four years ago.
A man on Birch Drive wanted to know what he could do if his daughter-in-law watched his house about a month ago and at the time smoked marijuana with his 17-year-old son.
A woman on Tamarack Lane said a neighbor’s dog normally barks but sounded like it was choking. She suspected maybe it was being strangled. Animal control officers spoke to the dog’s owner and found the animal to be fine. But the woman called back and said she heard it making the same strange noise again.
A man on Fifth Avenue East told Kalispell Police an employee didn’t show up to work last Friday or Monday and is not answering her phone when he calls. Officers contacted the woman by phone. She said she didn’t work there anymore and didn’t want to call them.
Windows were broken out of a shed on Ninth Avenue West but nothing was reported missing.
Someone smashed a mailbox on East Oregon Street.
Earlier Monday, someone smashed the window out of a car on First Street West and stole a purse inside.
Sunday, a caller on Appleway Drive said a 14-year-old girl ran away.
A Sixth Street West woman called 911 to tell police she has been receiving emergency messages on her television about a Volkswagen Beetle and an energy company. She just wanted police to be aware.
A woman on Fifth Avenue West North said neighbor kids have been harassing her kids, calling them names and flipping them off and running through the yard when they have been told to keep out. Police responded and everyone agreed to stay out of each other’s yards.
Someone keeps messing with traffic control devices for the bridge construction project in Whitefish, moving devices to try to divert vehicles into each other and throwing devices into the river, a caller told Whitefish Police Sunday morning.
A restaurant-owner had some insurance-related questions for police after a drunk driver ran into his barbecue Saturday night.
