Museum hosts benefit auction Friday

| May 15, 2013 7:30 PM

The Hockaday Museum of Art’s Benefit Auction of Miniatures is from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday.

The annual event features small works of art — pieces that are 9 by 12 inches or 4 by 6 inches. This year’s auction features a broad ranges of styles and subjects in two- and three-dimensional pieces.

The pieces will be sold via silent auction at the museum. The auction runs from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

A portion of the proceeds from the larger pieces will go to the museum. All of the proceeds from the sale of the 4- by 6-inch pieces go to the Hockaday.

In addition to the auction, the event features appetizers by Rising Sun Bistro and desserts by Flathead High School’s Brave Caterers. Rendezvous Lounge hosts a bar with beer, wine and specialty cocktails.

Tickets to the event are $30 for museum members, or $35 for nonmembers.

The Hockaday is located at 302 Second Ave. E., Kalispell. For additional information, call the museum at 755-5268 or visit www.hockadaymuseum.org.
