Class A Soccer: Whitefish leads all-conference selections

The Class A runner-up Whitefish Lady Bulldogs led Northwestern A with nine all-conference soccer selections.

Senior midfielder Caroline Carbo, senior defender Madison Grady and senior goalkeeper Piper Greenwood earned all-state nods for Whitefish while six others were selected to the Northwestern A all-conference team.

Columbia Falls had five all-conference selections and three all-state choices in senior forward Haley Purdy, sophomore midfielder Tavia Bechtel and junior defender Meagan Seliger.

Polson junior Sarah Howell was also an all-state selection and one of three Polson girls on the all-conference team. Libby had one all-conference choice and Bigfork had none.

The Whitefish boys also led Northwestern A with seven all-conference selections and three all-state choices in senior forward Nathan Boone, senior midfielder Tommy Murphy and senior defender Jon Dittman.

Senior Jason Schnackenberg and sophomore Johnny Davidson earned all-state honors for Libby and were two of four Loggers on the all-conference team.

Columbia Falls’ Caleb Baumann and Bigfork’s Kyle Thomson earned all-state honors and each of those schools had three all-conference selections.

Polson had two all-conference selections.
