Dog, deer both meet bad end

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office responded to Conn Road in Columbia Falls after a gutted deer was found next to a dog that had been shot and killed.

A concerned observer called the sheriff’s office after a drunk woman whose breath smelled of alcohol and who had an open beer in her vehicle picked up her child from a Gopher Lane school in Marion.

A Hungry Horse man and his Third Street West neighbor were counseled after the neighbor blocked the man’s driveway with snow.

An Ashley Drive man complained about his neighbor making excessive noise chopping wood. None of the man’s other neighbors reported hearing anything.

A suspicious man was reported sitting in his pickup truck on Second Avenue West, repeatedly using a lighter for about 20 minutes.

A concerned passerby contacted the Whitefish Police Department to report the city hall sign on East Second Street was hanging very low, appearing that it could come down at any time and hit someone walking by on the head.

A cautious clerk called for contact after a suspicious man came in the U.S. 93 South business and started asking questions about employees on shift, when they worked, and other unusual questions.

A Second Avenue West North daughter contacted the Columbia Falls Police Department after someone hit her mother’s house, next door, with a car while her mother was out of town.
