Å Kalispell man accused of embezzling by multiple means more than $37,000 from his employer has pleaded not guilty.

Douglas LeDoux, 36, entered the plea to felony theft by embezzlement Thursday in Flathead District Court.

According to a court document, another employee of Montana Helical Pier reported LeDoux had taken a company truck and trailer, loaded the trailer with scrap iron and headed to Pacific Steel & Recycling. LeDoux was allegedly located at the recycling center, where he reported that he was a drug user.

It was then determined, the document states, that LeDoux had taken a large amount of iron in to sell as scrap and had also been making unauthorized charges to the company credit card.

The total loss for the company due to LeDoux’s actions was $37,356, according to the owner.

If convicted, LeDoux faces between one and 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $50,000, as well as any restitution.

His next hearing is set for Dec. 4.
