Roberta (Dyer) Arnold, 84

| October 10, 2013 10:01 PM

Roberta Ann Dyer was born in Kalispell Aug. 11, 1929, to Ray George Dyer and Dorothy (Sheldon) Dyer.

“Bobbi” graduated from Flathead County High School in 1948; then attended nursing school in Spokane.

Bobbi was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on July 10, 1953. Since she prayed for God's will to be done, it made sense to search the Bible so she could harmonize her life with his will. Soon, she was able to help others find answers in God's message to mankind.

Bobbi provided sole support for her family of four. Still, she found time for painting and other artistic pursuits. In her 70s, she took traveling nursing assignments, earning premium wages for 12-hour shifts, and continued to minister to others.

Since 2006, Bobbi lived in Olympia, Wash., near her grandson, Zachary and his wife Kate. The bonus was being able to see her great-grandchildren Ruby and Matilda on an almost daily basis. Kate and Zach were her champions, helping her at every turn.

Bobbi died suddenly Sept. 15, 2013, after a brief hospitalization. She was preceded in death by her father and mother; her brothers, Jimmy and John Dyer; her sister, Fran; and her son, Jess.

Bobbi is survived by her brother and sister, Kenneth Dyer and Shirley McDaniel; daughters, Tres Osborn, Darcy Mitchell and husband Robin; and her son, Dan Arnold; grandchildren, Jason Richey, Zachary Osborn and wife Kate O’Donnell, Jess Simonson and wife Sowatana, Autumn O’Brien, Katie Osborn and Chance Cameron; great-grandchildren, Ruby and Matilda O’Donnell, and William Simonson; plus numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins ... a big family she dearly loved.
