Soccer: Bengals' late rally upends Wolfpack
HELENA — Helena High rallied behind three-second half goals to down Glacier 2-0 in Western AA girls soccer action Thursday afternoon.
Helena scored two goals in the last five minutes.
“We just don’t have the depth to finish that final minute there,” Glacier coach Brenden Byrd said. “Helena High is an outstanding team. For us to be that strong with them, I’m so impressed with the girls.”
Glacier (5-6-0 league) jumped out to a fast start with goals by Maddi Paulson at 16 minutes and Jaymee Siler three minutes later.
Helena (9-1-1) outshot Glacier on goal 13-5 and in corner kicks 5-0.
Glacier is the only team to score twice in one game on Helena.
Glacier concludes regular-season play today at 10 a.m. versus Helena Capital.
