Honking horn leads to stolen Jeep

 The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office was contacted Sunday by a Forest Service employee about a vehicle that was located on a dirt road in the Hungry Horse area. The Jeep Rubicon’s horn was blaring, and it appeared it been beaten with a hammer. It turned out that it was a vehicle reported stolen from Montana Avenue in Whitefish Sunday morning.

A woman reported that a camper with all of her belongings in it was stolen, and she believes two acquaintances took it and now they won’t tell her what they did with it.

A $400 DVD player was reported stolen from a pawn shop on U.S. 93 South.

An unwanted man who has been repeatedly banned from a property on Conrad Drive returned to the property but eventually left.

A woman calling from Mallard Loop reported that a credit card being used by somebody at a local convenience store had been stolen from her vehicle, along with a purse, several days ago.

A West Evergreen Drive resident reported that a group of kids shot out a house window with a pellet gun.

An intoxicated man who had been fighting on the street started banging on the front door of a woman’s house on Halfmoon Road. The woman said she didn’t know the man, who kept yelling, “Don’t mind me!” The man was transported to his residence.

Someone calling from Montana 40 west of Columbia Falls said a bloody man who had been fighting with someone came over and asked the reporting party to call law enforcement. The assault victim ended up requiring medical assistance.

After a man reported catching people attempting to steal things from his garage on Rose Crossing, one of the suspects was located and arrested.

Early Monday, at about 1:30 a.m., there was a report of kids throwing eggs at a moving vehicle in the Harmony Road area in Evergreen.

A woman calling from U.S. 2 East near Hungry Horse said a strange man had been in her yard during the night. An intoxicated man was later located in the area and transported to Martin City.

Monday morning at about 10:20 a.m., a vehicle struck a black bear at U.S. 2 and Pleasant Valley road in Marion, but the bear ran off and apparently survived.

 

After getting a report Sunday of a couple fighting in a moving vehicle on Center Street, Kalispell Police determined that the vehicle was stolen in California. A man was arrested for theft, and soon after complained of chest pains, requiring him to be transported to Kalispell Regional Medical Center. The woman was arrested for misdemeanor warrants.

A man said he left his vehicle in a parking lot on U.S. 93 South overnight, and someone kicked in a door and rear panels on the vehicle.

There was a report of men drinking and threatening people at Depot Park.

A man calling from Two Mile Drive claimed he was beaten by a woman earlier in the day, causing a lump on the back of his head.

A woman calling from Cooperative Way said a man came into her residence and attacked her boyfriend. She said the attacker has been stalking her recently.

A man calling from First Avenue East North said he was attacked by two men who also threw his motorcycle on the ground.

A vehicle was broken into on Jackson Peak Drive, and it appeared that a flashlight was stolen from it.

A woman calling from Sunnyview Drive said her cell phone was stolen, and her boyfriend is the possible culprit.

 

Whitefish Police got a report Sunday regarding a shotgun and a pistol being stolen from a vehicle on West Seventh Street.

Items were stolen out of vehicles on Edgewood Place and Dakota Avenue.

Stereo equipment was taken from a vehicle on Copperwood Court.

Personnel at North Valley Hospital requested officer assistance in preventing a patient from leaving the facility.

Satellite radio gear was stolen from a vehicle on U.S. 93 South.

A man reported that a tent was stolen on U.S. 93 South.

CDs were taken from a vehicle on Cedar Street.

 

Columbia Falls Police got a call Sunday from a Ninth Street West resident who said a woman who lives in a neighboring apartment threatened to taze her.
