<p>Team Flathead DragonFlies paddles back to the dock Wednesday evening after a dragon-boat practice in Somers Bay on Flathead Lake. The Flathead DragonFlies is a new team formed from members of last year’s Kalispell Lions team. The team recently competed in its first international race in Lethbridge, Alberta, and placed third.</p>

<p>Sunday night's storms caused a large pine tree to fall on several vehicles at a house on Fifth Avenue West in Kalispell. </p>

<p>Bethany Knudsen, a fourth-grade teacher at Kila School, organizes her classroom on Tuesday. “There is the big picture, that I worked on over the summer, but there are also the smaller details. When the kids come back, they know if you haven’t got the details taken care of,” Knudsen said as she put individual name tags on personalized mail slots. Knudsen is looking forward to the start of school on Sept. 3. “The first days are all about atmosphere and setting expectations for the whole year,” said Knudsen.</p><p></p>

<p><strong>Road crews</strong> last week work on the east side of the U.S. 93/West Reserve Drive intersection. The intersection project is part of the $6.7 million project to build the northernmost segment of the U.S. 93 bypass. </p><div> </div>
