Argument escalates to threats

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received a report of people threatening to shoot one another on Badger Hollow Trail in Marion. One man’s wife and another man’s wife had apparently gotten into an argument earlier in the day at another location, and the fight led one man to threaten to shoot the other man and his wife, and the second man to say if the first man showed up, he would shoot first.

A person was reported shooting over the Middle Fork of the Flathead River from Belton Stage Road and over houses. Glacier National Park rangers reported they would be monitoring the situation.

A red Jeep Cherokee previously reported abandoned in a ditch along Browns Road was reported Wednesday morning after it appeared to have more damage and seemed to have been moved to the other side of the road.

A man called police to report his dog was attacked by a pit bull-chow mix, and that when he separated the dogs, it attacked him also. He told a dispatcher that if an animal control officer did not come take the dog, he would shoot it.

A man Dumpster diving at a Lakeside bank found burned money among the garbage and brought it in to see what he could do with it. The money totaled less than $100.

A jail inmate asked for charges to be filed against another inmate after being assaulted.

Someone broke in the front and back doors of an Evergreen home, escaping with a computer and $1,500.

A man was sent on his way after being discovered dozing in a sleeping bag in the entrance to the Lakeside post office.

A newspaper box was burglarized on West Idaho Street.

The Kalispell Police Department was drawn into a baby’s bedtime when the infant accidentally dialed 911 while playing with the phone. Upon callback, the father said he was putting his children to bed when the baby managed to call 911.

A person who called to report a cardboard box bin on fire behind a U.S. 2 West bar called back after being able to put the fire out.

A girl was arrested on Wolfpack Way for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

The Whitefish Police Department received a call from an upset motorist who complained about the construction between O’Brien and Karrow avenues, calling it the “most dangerous road there is.” The person said someone possibly got stuck in the mud and made a mess.

Officers arrested a man after his odd behavior prompted a call to police. The man was pacing under a carport next to a Baker Avenue apartment building, acting drunk or drugged. The man reportedly offered a resident a hot dog when the resident came outside. He ran from police but was apprehended downtown.

A watchful resident reported seeing several youths jump over the fence at Soroptomist Park. They jumped back over and left when he yelled at them.

The principal of a high school called police after a student received a threatening text from a student at another high school.

A man got a ride from a Columbia Falls Police officer Wednesday night after calling 911, saying he was very drunk and needed a ride home. He also complained that the bar wouldn’t take his money.

The owner of a Nucleus Avenue business reported the mystifying sight of a young Labrador running down the street dragging a child’s scooter. She corralled the dog in her store, and it was taken to the county animal shelter.
