Opponents of same-sex marriage can't give up fight

In the Nov. 23 paper, there was a letter entitled “What about 70 percent?” that wanted to know why the 70 percent of Montanans who opposed same-sex marriage were being ignored.

We have watched other states’ laws being overturned one by one by judicial stroke of the pen, by one person sworn to uphold the law of the land.

Let us remember it does not matter if Gov. Bullock thinks it is OK to rule against the will of the voters. As you can see, he also has an agenda that is his idea of “what is best for us.”

We know America was founded upon Judeo-Christian beliefs held in common by Judaism and Christianity. This belief of marriage between a man and a woman has served mankind well.

How do we react? Remember the 70 percent? You are still one of them, believing in the sanctity of marriage, and no, you do not have to give up this belief.

As for the letter writer’s ironic comment that God will soon have to go back to Sodom and Gomorrah and apologize for what he did to them, no way!

Genesis 1:1 says, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” and in Revelation 22:13, God says “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.” Revelation 22:18,19 tells us what happens to those of us who take away or add to the words of this book of prophesy.

As for the letter writer’s comment that if this country does not turn back to God it will soon fall, he is right on. —Lavonne Larson, Kalispell
