MISSOULA — It was another heartbreaking road loss for the Glacier Wolfpack boys basketball team as Missoula Sentinel pulled out a 57-55 victory in the Western AA opener for both teams Friday night.

Glacier trailed by five with a minute left and managed to close the gap twice on 3s by Tanner Olsen and Evan Epperly. Sentinel, however, responded both times at the free throw line.

Glacier (2-2 overall, 0-1 league) ended the 2013 portion of its schedule with a 74-73 loss at Eastern AA foe Great Falls High on Dec. 21. The Bison scored the game-winning bucket with six seconds to play.

Epperly finished with 17 points at Missoula and Olsen knocked down 14.

Chase Walker had 25 points for Sentinel (3-2, 1-0).

Sentinel enjoyed a big edge at the free throw line, going 14 for 22. Glacier was just 4 of 11. The Wolfpack had two players foul out: Bryan Michaels and Kyler Harkins.
