Cabin fever hits big time in valley
A Flathead County Sheriff’s Office deputy arrested a woman after she was the subject of two 911 calls Monday night. She was first reported beating on a man at a friend’s Shady Lane home, giving him a black eye, before the residents locked themselves in a bathroom to get away from the woman, who continued to beat on the door. The woman eventually left, but came back later, yelling and throwing things. It was during her second visit that the woman was arrested and transported to the Flathead County Detention Center.
Deputies used a Taser on and arrested a man at a U.S. 2 East business after the man was first reported acting strangely and harassing customers before he swung a stick or bat at people. He was transported to the county jail.
A 15-year-old Hungry Horse boy was arrested for partner or family member assault and transported to the Flathead County Juvenile Detention Center after hitting his mother before being restrained by his father and older brother. The fight started when the boy tried to run away.
A ticked-off Truman Creek Road man reported his neighbor came over and shot a gun in the air while he was sleeping, that it was not the first time, and that he wanted charges pressed against the noisy neighbor.
A Days Acres Lane resident reported hearing 16 shots fired in the area north of his home before later reporting even more gunfire.
A Ranger Station Road resident in Bigfork reported someone broke out the passenger side window of a work truck and hit the windshield in three places, but did not break it.
A Kalispell Police Department officer responded twice to a Sixth Avenue West home after a pair of incidents that began when a man allowed his wife’s uncle into the home after he was “run out” of a low-income apartment building. The man said the uncle was either drunk or on something and was acting strangely and aggressively, calling the man’s wife a liar and throwing papers at her, then leaving the home wearing her San Francisco 49ers shirt. After being made to leave by an offficer the first time, at which point he spun a brodie in the front yard, the uncle continued to call and leave messages, harassing the man and swearing at the man’s wife. The officer returned and counseled the residents and the uppity uncle.
A woman reported a man was drinking beer and calling her obscene names while in line at a Kalispell car wash. An officer made contact with the driver, who showed the officer two unopened beers he had for later. He said the woman was mad because he got in front of her and she thought he cut her off. She agreed that they had a confrontation, but said the man must have hidden the open or empty beer from the officer. The officer reported the man showed no signs of drunkenness.
A wary Woodland Avenue resident reported a motorist in a red pickup truck was driving slowly through the neighborhood and shining a light into houses and also pulled into the resident’s driveway and sat there for a while.
A man who was found to have five cellphones and a wallet on him was located after a Second Avenue East woman reported a suspicious man looking into cars with a flashlight, also reporting she chased him off when he tried to get into her car.
Money was taken from a purse inside an unlocked vehicle on North Main Street. Also, approximately $400 was stolen from a purse on Third Avenue West.
A West Fifth Street man complained to the Whitefish Police Department that contractors had been plowing snow onto his property. When approached by an officer, the contractor agreed to remove the offending snow and to not put any more snow on the man’s property.
