Ann Sirotiak Geror, 92

| January 18, 2014 1:00 PM

Ann Sirotiak Geror of Whitefish left her family and friends Jan. 13, 2014, “to be with her beloved family and Father in heaven.”

Ann was a devoted and loving mother to her son David Geror of Whitefish. She loved being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Her joy was found in the Lord, whom she served until her last days. Ann was a giver, a woman who felt the blessings of giving, sharing in her comfort of knowing Christ; she gave to the church, its members and community around her. Grandma was forever aiding the elder ones around her, who were actually several years her junior.

Being a seamstress in Minneapolis for JCPenney’s for 25 years, she turned out dresses, overalls, blankets and pillows. She knitted with the intent to gift whatever she was making.

Ann loved life; she showed her family the meaning of living. Full of wisdom and humor, she never failed to shine light on those around her. Her hugs fought away the cold, her laugh melted any sorrow, and her wit always kept you on your toes. Her eyes were beautiful and always twinkled with secrets and stories of years long ago. Her hands were lovely with long fingers adept for sewing and wiping away tears. Her laugh was a key of its own, catching you up in its delight.

After 92 years, Ann leaves a legacy that will live on through those she touched throughout her life. Her last advice to her grandchildren was, "Treat everyone equally no matter their status, age or attitude; love people."

“God bless and goodbye for now, "Boh zehnaj a zbohom teraz!"

Funeral services will be held in the spring at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, (406) 892-4074, 640 7th St. W., Columbia Falls.
