Experience is key: Vote for Daines

As I get ready to apply for jobs after college, I have been bolstering my resume. Currently it’s filled with my various paid and unpaid internships that have given me experience in the office environment. I also have activities listed, to show that I am involved in my community outside of the office environment. All this tweaking to my own resume got me thinking about the resumes of the current candidates for US Senate. Looking at their credentials is like night and day.

John Walsh has no experience in government, other than a year stint as lieutenant governor of Montana. He has failed to create even a single job in Montana. He only recently came into the forefront of Montana politics after he was chosen by Harry Reid and President Obama to be our senator. His resume is less than impressive on the hardworking politician front.

Steve Daines has the kind of experience we need, and has proven himself both in Washington and in Montana. As a congressman, he was considered the most efficient freshman representative in passing legislation through committee. Before he was elected to Congress in 2012, he was a 28-year businessman and helped create hundreds of high-paying Montana jobs. As it stands, he is the only candidate that has job-creating experience.

When getting a job, experience is key. This couldn’t be more true when running for public office. Experience allows you to follow through on campaign promises. That is why I will be voting for Steve Daines because his experience shows that he will continue to fight for Montana. —Nicholas Hobbes, Kalispell
