Teenagers cause some concerns
The residents of an apartment on North Main Street were scared by two strangers banging on the door demanding their money. They had been banging on the door for a half hour. Officers from the Kalispell Police Department came and told the intruders (actually two teenagers) to leave.
A man on Seventh Avenue East called dispatch to say he had been stabbed. The man did not know who stabbed him, but was sure that he had been stabbed. He then changed his statement, saying it was his boyfriend who stabbed him.
Nearly a dozen people were involved in a brawl at a bar on Airport Road. One man was bleeding, and the bartender wanted all the participants removed from the bar.
A woman on Meadow Court called police after she heard several gunshots. A quick investigation found it was some neighbors lighting large mortar-style fireworks.
A crying Columbia Falls woman called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office to report her son had died during the night. The 20-year-old man was found slumped over a coffee table at 7 a.m. She had seen him alive and making food at 1:15 that morning.
Deputies followed up on a call about an 18-year-old man who flicked a cigarette into the eye of a 14-year-old girl in Columbia Falls. She had to go to the Emergency Room because of the man’s actions, which he claimed were entirely accidental. The mother of the girl was waiting to see what the doctor said before possibly pressing any charges.
A man in Marion called deputies after he lost his hunting buddy on a ridge. After searching for an hour, the man called again and said his partner was safe and sound in their cabin.
A resident on Montana 35 called about a man in the house who had just poured acetone on her and refused to leave, instead threatening to kill someone with butcher knives. The man stole the caller’s tattoo gun and left the residence.
Four vehicles were out “mud bogging” off Clark Drive, tearing up a farmer’s field — at least until one of the vehicles got stuck on its roof and needed to be flipped over and pulled out by the other three. The father of one of the girls showed up and took his daughter away.
A woman and her five children hunkered down with a gun in an upstairs bedroom on River Estates Road in Columbia Falls when they thought they heard creaking downstairs. The mother called out and heard running outside.
A Kienas Road woman called on behalf of her friend who was afraid her ex-husband was coming to kill her. She was packing a .38 and was ready for him. Deputies did not find any evidence the claim was real.
The Columbia Falls Police Department took a call from a gas station employee who saw a man pump gas and leave without paying on Ninth Street West. The employee saw the same car in town later.
A woman on 14th Avenue West was receiving threatening text messages from her ex-husband who has a history of drinking and violence. He was upset over custody issues.
A Fourth Avenue West caller reported someone had stolen a vehicle. When the vehicle was pulled over, the driver was a repo man who had taken the car after five months of no payments.
