Carolyn June Slack, 71

Carolyn June Slack, 71, passed away at her home in Columbia Falls on Monday, Oct. 13, 2014.

Carolyn was born Dec. 19, 1942, in Great Falls to William and Florence Crail. She married John “Jack” Steven Slack in Sandpoint, Idaho.

She was a wonderful wife and mother. She always kept a warm and welcoming home. Carolyn loved and cherished the time spent with her grandchildren. She was so very proud of them and their accomplishments.

She and John shared a very memorable 54 years together, enjoying each other's company. Carolyn loved the time she spent with her sister-in-law Bonnie Craft (now deceased). They enjoyed the local musical events and quilting together. Carolyn loved spending time with family, sharing her love for canning and outdoor activities that included cone picking, huckleberry picking and fishing. She loved the holidays. It meant bringing family and friends together to share memories and create new ones.

Her pets held a special place in her heart. She loved them all. Jewel is her special little pup. She is going to miss Mom immensely.

Carolyn also enjoyed the local casinos and visiting with her girls.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Florence Crail; sister, Sharon Biehl; brother, David Crail; and sister, BillyJo Crail.

She is survived by husband, John “Jack’ Steven Slack; daughter, Robin Grosswiler, and husband, Clinton, of Kalispell; daughter, Jackie McFarland, and husband, Jeff, of Kalispell; daughter, Shannon Young, and husband, Jim Young, of Olympia, Wash.; son, John S. Slack Jr.; grandchildren — Robin’s children, Darcy, Trevor, Dieter and Kimberly; Jackie’s children, Nicole, Jesse, Ashley and Jeffrey; Shannon’s children, Jackie, Justina, Janelle and Jack; great grandchildren, Tessa, Jager, Kiya and Rylee; brothers, Don Crail, and Ron Crail and spouse Willie; brother-in-law, Ray Biehl; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

No services will be held at this time.
