Glacier still No. 1; Bigfork climbs to No. 8 in poll

Glacier held firm to its top spot and Bigfork moved up in the most recent Associated Press Montana high school football polls, released on Wednesday.

Glacier picked up nine of the 10 first-place votes in Class AA, holding on to the top spot it’s held for all five weeks of polling. Helena High remains in second place and Great Falls C.M. Russell in third. Billings Senior moved up one spot to No. 4, taking the spot of Billings Skyview, which slid down to fifth.

Belgrade became the first team in Class A to hold the top spot for two straight weeks, garnering six of the 11 first place votes. Butte Central remained in second and Billings Central hopped back into the polls in third place after beating then-third ranked Miles City on Friday. Laurel and Dillon held their spots at fourth and fifth, respectively.

Bigfork rose to No. 8 in the Class B poll, up two spots from 10th, where it’s held firm the last few weeks. Fairfield remained the top-ranked team with Huntley Project rising two spots two second and Glasgow stuck at third. Townsend picked up a first-place vote in fourth and Conrad fifth as the only other undefeated team in the class. Jefferson, Forsyth, Baker and Choteau rounded out the top 10.

Wibaux continues to lead Class C 8-Man and Stanford-Geyser-Denton stayed atop the 6-Man polls. Hot Springs held strong at third in 6-Man.
