D. Joleen George, 89

D. Joleen George, 89, passed away Sept. 3, 2014, at her residence in Polson. 

She was born Sept. 13, 1924, in Lawrence, Kan. She graduated from Lincoln High in 1942, and attended the University of Nebraska and Omaha University, receiving a master's degree in education. 

She married Leslie George in August of 1946 in Lincoln, Neb. She devoted her life to family and educating elementary students at Peter Sarpy and Fort Crook in Bellevue, Central Park and Fontenelle in Omaha, Neb., and ended her career at J.P. Lord for handicapped students. 

Joleen married Lincoln High classmate, Keith Chase, in April of 2005.  

She was preceded in death by husband, Leslie George; and her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Darla George.  

She is survived by husband, Keith Chase; daughter and son-in-law, Jo and Steve Coleman; brother, Tim, and Jeannine Darnauer; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 8, at Grogan Funeral Home. Private burial will follow. 

Donations may be sent to Polson Senior Center and Lake County Hospice.
