Tennis: Braves, Bravettes struggle in Missoula
MISSOULA — Swept by Missoula Big Sky and Missoula Hellgate on Saturday, the Flathead Braves and Bravettes tennis squads came away from the road trip with several impressive victories.
The Braves, who fell to Big Sky, 7-1, and Hellgate 5-0, saw Ryan Keenan and Rydell Welk take home the lone victory. The doubles pair took down Big Sky’s Alec Erickson and Zach Nachtigal, 6-3, 6-0.
The Bravettes were edged by the Eagles 5-3 before dropping a dual to Hellgate, 5-1.
Jenna Jensen won her singles match against Big Sky’s Tayler Johnson, 7-5, 6-2. Teammate Ellie Berreth was Flathead’s other singles winner against the Eagles, trouncing Jourdyn Vander Veen in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0.
Hannah Holderbaum and Emma Winkelman picked up a doubles victory for the Bravettes.
