Thief gets Easter goods
Determined to celebrate the holiday at any cost, a woman reportedly shoplifted some Easter goods from a Hutton Ranch Road business. The Kalispell Police Department worked to track down the suspect.
When police approached a car near West Reserve Drive, the occupant got out and ran. Officers were able to apprehend the man and had his car towed.
Officers responded to a report of a man who was yelling in a back alley on Second Avenue East. The owner of the adjacent property didn’t know who this person was. Police dropped the man off at home.
A motorist stopped to check on someone lying on the side of Montana 40 West. The person didn’t respond to the driver’s inquiries, so she called the Whitefish Police Department.
A border dispute ensued after a teenager was accused of cutting holes in a neighbor’s fence on Lone Star Trail. The fence owner told the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office that the fence had been cut beyond repair.
Two dogs reportedly dispatched a chicken on South Cedar Drive. The chicken’s owner told animal control that two additional chickens were missing and a turkey might need euthanization. The dog’s owner said she would try to work things out civilly.
The search for a man with an arrest warrant included multiple agencies and a helicopter unit around One Way. The search was unsuccessful this time.
In what might be considered a brazen move, someone drove up to a camp trailer, hooked up the hitch and stole it, according to a report. The owner had been storing it at a Montana 35 property and did not see who took it.
The sight of a young kid carrying a rifle near U.S. 2 East worried a person, who called the Sheriff’s Office. A deputy responded and determined the weapon to be a BB gun.
An East Lakeshore Drive resident called to report that four people got their vehicle stuck somewhere in the mountains past Whitefish. She said that tow companies wouldn’t even venture out there. By the time a deputy responded, the vehicle had become unstuck.
