Baseball: Mariners toss one-hitter, beat Rangers
EUREKA — Derek Peel, Micah McClure and Walter Wood combined on a 1-hitter as the Mission Valley Mariners beat the Kootenai Valley Rangers 14-2 on Friday at the Kootenai Round Robin American Legion baseball tournament.
Peel and McClure both pitched two innings and Wood had one. All three pitchers had three strikeouts.
The game ended after five innings on the 10-run rule.
The Mariners tallied 12 runs in the second inning to take command.
Peel, TJ Olson, Warren Wood, Jacob Harrod and Nyqolas Gillingham had two RBIs each.
