Libby splits at softball tournament

FRENCHTOWN — Northwestern A was well represented at the Frenchtown Invitational softball tournament on Friday.

Libby went 1-1 on the first day of play while Columbia Falls rolled to an easy win over Florence. Whitefish lost to Hamilton.

Tournament action continues today with Polson joining the competition.

Hamilton scored the final seven runs to slip by Libby. Libby held a 10-5 lead going into the bottom of the fourth inning.

Madisen Monigold and Staci Regh both went 3 for 4 to pace Libby’s hitters.

Against Florence, Libby closed the game out with an eight run fifth inning.

Devon Gallagher tripled and homered for the Loggers. She also singled and drove in three runs.
