Boyle Field dedication today at Conrad Complex
Former Flathead High School coach and activities director Gene Boyle will be honored today prior to the girls softball game between Class AA Flathead and visiting Class A Columbia Falls at Conrad Complex.
A special ceremony to have the Bravettes’ home field named Boyle Field is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. The game begins at 6.
Flathead currently plays all its home games at Conrad Complex, but FHS activities director Bryce Wilson said if the team does plays a home contest at another venue, it would still be considered Boyle Field.
“Gene led our softball program to its first state championship,” Wilson said in a press release.
“Many consider Gene to be ‘the Spirit of Flathead High School.’”
Boyle was the activities director at FHS for more than 18 years. He coached or directed varsity athletics in Idaho and Montana for more than 40 years.
