Not the new paint they were hoping for

A couple were in the process of buying a house on Fifth Avenue West, and it had been shot up by paintballs, according to a report to the Kalispell Police Department. Hopefully they already closed because paint splotches can really hurt the property value.

Cats were reported to be roaming the neighborhood near Sixth Avenue West, possibly looking to take control of the territory.

A delivery man told police that a masked man ripped a box that contained residents’ bill payments off of the wall. The man was reportedly wearing a mask that covered the bottom of his face and fled from the First Avenue East North location.

Someone was “tackled” by a person in Lawrence Park who was asking for Crystal. That person apparently was not Crystal.

Police told a man to chill out because he was “yelling cuss words” and “banging on people’s cars.”

Two people broke up months ago, but a man was “assaulted” by his ex-girlfriend at a First Avenue East business. The woman also vandalized the store, according to the report.

A Third Avenue West resident found a lawnmower next to his house one day. It didn’t belong to him or the neighbor, but it was “a nice one.”

Police advised a man to move along after he was found asleep and snoring on the toilet inside a Third Avenue East North business.

Two vehicles collided on College Avenue and Conrad Drive. It blocked the roadway for a while before the vehicles were towed.


A Lupfer Avenue vehicle was the victim of theft days ago. The owner called the Whitefish Police Department and said that a jar of change and a pair of sunglasses were stolen.

Another vehicle owner was reportedly out $165 and a pocket knife after an unlocked car was burglarized around Flint Avenue.

Two juveniles were arrested in connection with a report of underage drinking in a pickup truck along Edgewood Place.

Be bear aware — bear scat was reported near Baker Avenue.


It sounded like a wild evening for a 12th Avenue West resident. A neighbor told the Columbia Falls Police Department that the man had been drinking, playing music loudly and yelling, all while a dog was barking.


The Lake County Sheriff’s Office arrested someone for possession of dangerous drugs on Ducharme Lane following a disorderly conduct call.


The Polson Police Department responded to a suspicious person call on Main Street and made an arrest for a probation violation.


A woman reported a burn pile on Grande Vista Drive that contained “illegal materials.” The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office and fire departments responded, found it to be a controlled burn and left the scene. Later the same woman called again and was “demanding to speak to an officer” because she still felt it was illegal.

A man welded a bicycle so that it was six feet tall. It was probably a great head-turner until it was reported stolen from a Conrad Drive property.

Thieves reportedly took two motorcycles from a Harmony Road property. The case is under investigation.

Four cows got loose near Birch Grove Road and were moving toward the roadway. At last check, the owner was corralling the cattle.

A Halfmoon Road resident was advised to stay away from four bears that had apparently found refuge in a nearby tree. According to the report, it was a sow with three cubs.

Cookies, doughnuts or circles — whatever they’re called, a Pontiac car was reported spinning them.

A man reportedly was seeking $500 rent for a month’s stay in a “camping lot,” which seems a bit steep.

Deputies were unable to locate some “unruly, loud kids” partying near the Stillwater River bridge.
